Starting from the beginning, as Georgina pretends to be Sarah and chats with Vanessa at her work the sounds of Good To Be Alive by Joey Sykes fills the cafe. The song fades a little into the background but the tune can still be heard as Dan enters the cafe and meets the two girls. Music follows Georgina all the way to Serena's place where a new tune picks up as she joins the family for dinner. Say (All I Need) by One Republic breaks in and out of the dinner conversation; a conversation where Georgina ends up outing Eric to his entire family. As Lily prepares for her wedding the perfect clips from Gossip Girl regulars The Kills, and classical music set the mood. While Lily is out and about Cheap and Cheerful by The Kills leads up to the moment that she runs into Rufus. As the two engage in a conversation over Jenny, Beethoven's, Sonata for Violin and Piano, No. 5 in F Major slowly starts to build up. People know more about Paris Hilton, than they do President Bush. Celebrities are always in the news for a variety of different reasons. They might be getting drunk, and making a fool out of themselves (Mel Gibson), or getting a divorce (Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro), or almost dropping their baby in the street (Britney Spears). Whatever they are doing, we are all tuned to watch, and listen to the celebrity gossip. Most of the time the only celebrity gossip that appears on television concerns something bad that has happened, or some mistake a celebrity has made. The public likes to watch figures in the spotlight fall on their face, because it brings them back down to earth with the rest of us. To many folks, the idea of "workplace violence" connotes the physical harm that one may do to another. However, there is another form of workplace violence that is as dangerous and insidious, and this is workplace gossip.Gossip is any language that would cause another harm, pain, or confusion that is used outside the presence of another for whom it is intended. As a facilitator, trainer and business coach, I've experienced numerous workplace situations where gossip was a norm. Curiously enough, in these same organizations, most folks would say they were "against" it. Even more, in these same situations, after formal meetings to discuss the "gossip issue," after sensitivity workshops designed to reduce and eliminate pernicious gossip, after mandating "there be no more gossip..." and after pledging to have more honest, open and direct communication (wherein folks verbalized their "commitment" to speak directly to a colleague, in order to eliminate the "gossip problem,") many of these same committed folks consciously choose to continue to engage in the practice of gossip. Why?Gossip is essentially a form of attack, which often arise from an individual's conscious and unconscious fears. For some people, their ostensible commitment "not to gossip" is easily lost in their fears, anxieties, ... [more..]

When cell phones first came onto the market, people believe the product to simply be just an extension of the already popular cordless telephone found in most homes. There was no imminent need to have a phone everywhere people went during the course of a day. Since that time, the cell phone market has rapidly changed. The first few phones handled basic needs of making and receiving phone calls. From there the phones expanded to offer voice messaging services. Today, there is virtually nothing a cell phone can not do.In steps the Palm Centro Smart Phone from Sprint. This phone will be released to the market with a price tag of $99. While that might seem a bit expensive to novice cell phone users, many will know that smart phones typically carry price tags of much higher amounts. The Centro Smart Phone is a fusion of typical cell phone and smart phone - all rolled into one. The outward appearance is that of a regular cell phone. It is the features offered inside that make the phone a smart phone. Sprint hopes that the new phone will appeal to those users who are in a transition period. Here, there is ... [more..]
