
These days, more and more channels are filling up their empty, valuable time slots with reality TV programming. Honestly, it seems that every cable and satellite TV station has at least one reality show; even the TV Guide channel has one. Why wouldn't they? They are cheap to make, viewers love them and thus, advertisers love supporting them. But, out of all of the reality shows out on the market, one seems to stand above the rest with regards to overall quality: "Top Chef."Most television stations seem to use reality programming in a formulaic manner; people can guess what type of shows will be on which channels and what will happen. VH1 has carved out a niche in the market for providing shows that have washed-up celebrities or ex-sports stars living together, competing against each other and just trying to get as much air time as possible. Bravo, on the other hand, focuses more on the reality side of professional occupations, highlighting fashion design, interior design, hairstyling and of course gastronomy, to name a few. Yet, out of the slew of their industry themed reality shows that litter their normal and HD channels, "Top Chef" is by far Bravo's best ...
